WOLVES HOME ED SESSIONS

Wolves netball started when some home educated girls decided they'd like to play netball. We borrowed some bibs, bought some  cones and off we went with very humble beginnings but with a great team spirit from the start.

Petra, one of the mums, undertook England Netball coach training and the Wolves played netball come rain or shine!

The Wolves name was chosen by the original players.

Wolves remains home ed, though the sister club, Lockleaze Foxes which originated from Wolves members desiring to play more netball, is open to all.

Five years later both groups are going strong and have grown considerably from the initial days where we used to borrow brothers to make up numbers!

           Wolves Sessions
        for girls aged 12-17

take place on Fridays 1:30-2:30pm and are coached by Petra.

The team is such a lovely bunch! Super friendly and welcoming!

Sessions are fun and offer a great introduction to netball in an inclusive environment. It's all about being part of a team and being valued for exactly who you are (whilst enjoying netball!)

We aim to have some socials as well as play netball.

This group is entirely non-competitive, apart from the traditional end of season parents vs children :)

5 YEARS OF WOLVES HOME ED NETBALL

Fun fact: We raised the money to replace our vandalised hoops by baking and litter picking the streets of Lockleaze!

                        Wolves Minis Sessions
                       for children aged 6-11

After a the success of a 3 month trial period, mini sessions are now a fixed part of our Wolves netball offerings.
We've had a fabulous first season and look forward to September!

What can you expect?
An hour of high energy fun in an engaging, nurturing and child appropriate environment.
Using carefully selected games children will learn the basics of netball whilst having a bucketload of fun!
We are also really big (huge in fact!) on encouraging team spirit and good sportsmanship throughout our sessions.
We are keen for this to not to be "just" a netball session (though of course we LOVE netball!), but we really strive for any child attending to feel seen and valued for exactly who they are  and for every child to be able develop a sense of belonging within the team.
We recognise that no two children are alike and make space for each child to be able to take their netball journey at their own pace whilst recognising their progress (and encouraging them to recognise it too:)
Sessions are led by Petra, who is a Level 2 EN coach,  and has undertaken the England Netball "Bee Leader" training (which is is a carefully researched and thought out course to coach exactly this age group). Petra also has an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate.
Whether your child is a beginner or has some experience playing netball, our sessions are the perfect opportunity for them to learn and improve their skills, make new friends, and enjoy being part of a team.
As with the older wolves, this group is non-competitive apart from the end of year parents vs children tournament which is always great fun!

These sessions run Mondays, 1:30 - 2:30pm

Fun Fact: We had an alien almost abduct our coach! We think he must have been attracted by the many amazing things Emmie brought to show us every week  from her bone box!
